A clear voice rang through the sky!
If this conversation appeared in the living room, it would most likely be a scene of a father caring for his child.
But if you’d look around, there was an ocean of trees; the wind blew fiercely; the feeling of dark clouds clustered on top made it hard to breathe. This kind of harsh environment was nowhere near safe for children.
Roars of spirit beasts only the Holy Temple elders could tame came from the forest with the laughter of a man, making the just awoken girl get goosebumps.
“Didn’t I just die? How can I still hear voices?”
The girl awoken by the roars was named “Xena”. Right now, she was quietly observing everything around her.
TL’s Note: If you somehow know the original, you would know that I’ve made changes to the names. I’ve discussed with Sydney and we came to the conclusion that having “fake” English names would better the experience readers would have. Xena’s real Chinese name is actually “Yao Rao”.
Uh….. If she hadn’t opened her eyes, she would’ve been fine, but now that she did, she was terrified!
If the beast eyes that shined like green ghost fires weren’t enough to scare her to death, then the man’s face was a monster!
What kind of face was this?
His face was covered with cuts that looked like centipedes, and there wasn’t any piece of normal skin under those cuts. His green eyes were brighter than any beasts’, and now, he looked at Xena as if she was prey.
“Devils! No, even devils aren’t this scary!”
Xena thought the only reason she wasn’t fainting was that even hell wouldn’t take her with memories like these!
She transmigrated, for the second time! In her past, past life, she had transmigrated from Earth to the Holy Temple. She lived until she became 16 and was cursed by an evil quest item, causing every elder in the Holy Temple to crazily hunt her down. Then, finally, she was one-shotted by her best friend, Beryl. She hadn’t even gotten a chance to grieve for that spurious friendship before she saw this face that was even more terrifying than death!
“Frick you, God!”
In desperation, Xena could only use an attack most suitable for her body now,
“Waaaaa!” Xena let out her loudest cry as a neonate.
That was right: her spirit had transmigrated onto a baby that could be lifted with two hands.

Unfortunately, no other human saw this blessing vision that only occurs once in a lifetime! Only the centipede faced man and some brave-hearted tier four spirit wolves howled in joy.
“Awoo! Awoo! Awoooo!”
Just as the centipede faced man injected his pure spiritual power into the newborn girl’s body, he growled,
“This isn’t right!”
The man’s eyebrows furrowed,
“My daughter can’t be a demon!”
A cold and distant voice sounded, and it made Xena hold back her cries, her small heart beat tightly as she thought, “What does this gross centipede face want to do now?”
“Say it, why do I sense the power of a devil inside of you! Why are you a devil!”
The man’s hands suddenly clamped on little Xena’s throat. If he used just a bit more strength, she would’ve been ripped in half!
The Scar-Faced man’s attitude towards Xena now had a complete twist.
“What the heck! Where’s the devil? I was literally the Holy Temple’s Saintess!”
Xena couldn’t breathe.
But the man couldn’t hear Xena’s inner thoughts; his left fingertips instantly gathered up clusters of white fire the size of fingernails.
The white fire looked weak, but, as the past saintess of the Holy Temple, Xena knew. That was the Demon Light! The powerful light magic was the demon’s biggest nemesis!
“Holy, even the fourth-tier elder couldn’t even use Demon Light! He didn’t even conjure his spirit beast for the support! What kind of level is this man on? A Light magic Seventh-tier Lord conjuror?” Xena’s mind was in chaos. With this kind of magic, even normal humans that weren’t Demons would perish if they get in contact with his light!
Luckily, it was as if God gave her another chance of escaping!
Before the Demon Light shined on the newborn girl, the centipede faced man started to pant painfully again.
“Who…. Who am I? Damn it! I can’t remember!”
The man panted as he loosened Xena, who landed 5 meters away. He squatted down and began to sob. His fists smashed against his forehead like smashing iron, and he almost produced sparks from his own head!
With the chance to finally escape, Xena quickly crawled into the beyond; she didn’t even have time to check for injuries.
This was Xena, an earth girl who transmigrated three times. She believed that her own life came first. If she could fight, she fought. If she couldn’t fight, she ran. If she couldn’t run, she seduced. If she couldn’t seduce, then she’ll drag her enemy to hell with her.
“I will never die in the hands of a lunatic like you!”
She didn’t care why she was still alive and transmigrated as a baby in this place.
All she knew was, she was still alive and healthy!
Being alive was the most important thing!
“I’m going to escape!”
Xena swore in her heart…. The only thing was, fate just wouldn’t let her get what she wanted.

Ten minutes passed, and the determined Xena finally gave up as she lay miserably down in a puddle of mud. She only crawled for half a meter!

As she glared at the man, his facial expression changed again. It was almost as if he was his calm self again. He suddenly stood up and walked towards the mud-covered Xena.

Xena wanted to stand, but unfortunately, her tiny body right now could only kick in the mud, saying her own baby language that no one else could understand.
“Huh, who are you?”
He asked.
Now, the centipede faced man’s amnesia activated again. He seemed like he didn’t remember Xena anymore and examined Xena’s muddy body. Then, his sight shifted to his left fingertips… He was suddenly startled.
“Who…who lit me on fire!”
The Centipede faced man had forgotten that the fire was his own sorcery. His body shrank in horror as he quickly glanced around his surroundings to check for danger. Then, he carefully blew out the White Fire.
“What!”
Seeing this scene, Xena gasped.
The man right in front of her could even freely retract and use the Demon Light technique! For conjurors, once they release their moves, it was almost impossible to retract it without releasing the power first! This was why, in her memory, many skilled conjurors died because their techniques were abruptly cut off, and the overwhelming power exploded inside them.
How could the centipede faced man control the Holy Temple’s high-level sorcery so well? He must be a seventh-tier Junior Lord, or intermediate. No, maybe even more advanced?!
Xena’s estimate of the centipede man’s power raised higher each second. Even in her past life’s prime, as a third-tier Junior Lord, she couldn’t have possibly defeated him.

After extinguishing the fire from his hands, the Centipede man curiously tapped his huge fingers on Xena’s small face, wiping away her tears. His green eyes suddenly glowed out of excitement,
“I remember, now!”
He lifted Xena high off the ground, then squeezed her on his broad but foul chest as he laughed,
“You’re my daughter! I’m your daddy!”
